Directed Energy Deposition via Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Approaches

Additive manufacturing (AM) has been gaining pace, replacing traditional methods. Moreover, artificial intelligence and machine learning implementation increased for further applications advancements. This review extensively follows all the research work contemporary signs of progress in directed energy deposition (DED) process. All types DED systems, feed materials, sources, shielding gases used this process are also analyzed detail. Implementing (AI) to make less human-dependent control complicated aspects rigorously reviewed. Various AI techniques like neural networks, gradient boosted decision trees, support vector machines, Gaussian can achieve desired aim. These models implemented have trained high-precision products superior quality monitoring.
